Francisco Hernández
An artist gifted with extaordinary pacience for the observation
and illustration of bird life in all of its ecosystems, be it in
the middle of the forest confronting the merciless attacks of
mosquitos and horseflies, or perched on a solitary rock exposed
to the actions of wind and rain.
His day begins before the first light of
dawn, poised behind his telescope awaiting signs of movement from
the birds in their natural environment. His drawings, often mere
traces and sometimes more defined silhouettes, record the
movements and habits of each species, constituting the previous
analitical studies for watercolours executed rapidly in vivid
colour.
Francisco searches for intimacy, the
soul of the birds and their atmosphere, recreating the settings
for each sequence, lake shores, branches, tree trunks, rocks...
He brings his knowledge of ornithology
and the techniques and methods necessary to realize these studies
to the project. |
