Cristobal Hoare
Cristobal
Hoare was born in Colchester (Great Britian) in 1948.
Studied in Colchester School of art from 1964-1966, and afterward
in London at St Martin’s School of Art (1966-1969) winning of
diploma in Fine Art. He has lived in the Alpujarra
(Granada-Spain) since 1975.
He has acquired a deep knowledge of the villages, the people and
the countryside; this knowledge allows him to express not only
the colour and light, but also that very special essence of the
land. His capacity to show normally hidden qualities makes his
work exceptional.
His
more recent work includes a tendency towards abstraction. In
these paintings he is trying to reduce the landscape to its basic
essentials by means of exploring colour and form. Hoare works in
both oils and water colours. |
